SOUNDMIND

Educating, Equipping and Empowering

ABOUT US
Sound Mind is an organisation promoting mental strength and wellbeing by educating, equipping and empowering people in all things mental health and personal development.

We believe that prevention is better than cure, so we have developed a number of services and products that do just that.

Currently we work with a variety of clients ranging from schools, parents, young adults and corporations tackling various issues.

Sound Mind has two departments; Roots is the personal development side. The second department is the Mental Health one. Both departments aim to cultivate resilience in people.

SERVICES
Roots: Identity Sessions

It is an informal and friendly space for individuals or small groups to feel comfortable being transparent.

Topics discussed include self-image, comparison, career/work goals, friendships, self-doubt, and much more.
*However, it is not a therapy or counselling service.
Attention Seekers:
Understanding and Responding to Self-Harm (Workshop)
"They're just attention seeking" a phrase often associated with young people who self-harm.
Many young people struggle with self-harm and even more adults struggle to know how to approach them and support them adequately.
These workshops are designed to help answer 3 major questions:

What is self-harm?
What are practical ways to support someone struggling?
How do I handle disclosure?

We create a safe space for people to ask any questions they may have without the fear of judgment. We want to leave people feeling equipped to help support people who they encounter struggling with this issue.

Roots: Workshops
These are open and interactive discussions about topics relating to identity.
The purpose of these workshops is to help people have a better understanding of themselves, those around them and wider society.

The group aspect of the workshops exposes people to various perspectives and opinions that they may not have ordinarily encountered.

Topics discussed include the power of choices, gratitude, social media, body image and much more .
It Gets Better:
Support for young people recovering from
Self-Harming behaviours
This is a peer support program. We have a team of people who have overcome the issue of self-harming behaviours and want to help others do the same.

We have curated techniques used to help with recovery, both from personal testimonies and from the latest research. We support young people on their recovery journey.
This is a safe space for individuals or small groups to get together and share their experiences, moments of strength and moments of weakness. It's a reminder that they aren't alone and they can fully heal from this pain.
